A Gladio Mori demo is available on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It returned on April 28, 2026 after an earlier absence, and it is a cut-down build rather than a limited-time trial: you get selected weapon sets, the Castle arena and crossplay into lobbies with players who own the full game. If you are deciding whether to buy, the demo is the honest way to test the organ-based combat before the full 1.0 build.
The short answer
The demo came back on April 28, 2026. The publisher announcement says the demo returns to both Steam and the new-gen consoles with crossplay, a new map and character materials, and that players can use selected weapon sets and jump into multiplayer with people from the full game. The build had also been added to Xbox Series and PlayStation 5, which means all three platforms can try it.
| Feature | Demo | Full 1.0 game |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon access | Selected weapon sets | 34 weapons, 3 shields, 17 armour pieces |
| Crossplay multiplayer | Yes, with full-game owners | Yes |
| Castle arena | Yes | Yes |
| Character model option | Low poly or high poly | Low poly or high poly |
| Mods | Not compatible without disabling them | In-game mod browser on mod.io |
What the current demo includes
The April 2026 patch notes, versioned 0.21.9.5, list what came with the returning demo: the Castle arena, materials added to the character skins view, a character model option that swaps between low poly and high poly characters, new background images for campaign portraits, and an updated Community fighter moveset. The character materials and the poly-count toggle are demo-side features that also describe how the full game handles visual fidelity.
The demo also carries the Pugilist moveset that has been rebalanced repeatedly since launch. Version 1.0.3.2 moved the crouch to a stance and rebound Special Attack 3, then version 1.0.3.4 on October 1 reverted the previous changes and copied Special Attack 3, the hammer fist, into the block stance under action 2. Those patch notes apply to the full game, but demo players meet the same moveset in crossplay lobbies, which is why the balance discussion is part of the demo experience too.

Playing the demo with full-game owners
Crossplay is what keeps the demo useful after launch. Because the demo connects to the same arena pool, a demo player can fight someone on the full build, and the lobby system does not wall the two builds apart. The catch is version parity: the 1.0.2.1 hotfix reached each platform as it propagated and mismatched builds cannot meet, and the same patch separately notes that the demo was updated to maintain compatibility with the full game.
Mods are the second catch. The September 24 hotfix gave crossplay lobby hosts a demo-compatible button, but the patch notes are explicit that it only changes settings, so a modded host still has to disable mods by hand before a demo player can join. In a mixed lobby, the safe assumption is that the vanilla build is the shared baseline and that anything modded sits outside it.
FAQ
1.Is there a Gladio Mori demo?
Yes. The demo returned on April 28, 2026 and is available on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with crossplay enabled. The announcement describes it as a demonstration of what you can play in the full game.
2.What does the demo include?
The demo build includes selected weapon sets, the Castle arena, new character materials and a character model option that swaps between low poly and high poly fighters. It also carries the Pugilist moveset that has been rebalanced in later patches.
3.Can demo players play with people who own the full game?
Yes. The demo was added with crossplay available and the announcement says you can jump into multiplayer with people from the full game. Both sides need matching patches for the lobby to connect.
4.Does the demo have the full weapon list?
No. The announcement describes using selected weapon sets, and a 2024 Steam discussion about weapons answered that more were only in the full version of the game. The full build is listed with 34 weapons, three shields and 17 armour pieces.
5.Can you use mods in the demo?
Only with the mods disabled on the other side, effectively. Version 1.0.3.2 added a demo-compatible setting button for crossplay hosts, but the patch notes state that it only changes settings and that mods have to be turned off manually.
6.Does the demo get updated?
Yes. The version 1.0.2.1 hotfix on September 17, 2026 includes a separate demo section and says the demo was updated to maintain compatibility with the full game after launch.
