The Sinking City 2 platinum is a two-run job with one long grind at the end. 100% Guides puts it at about 20 hours and a 3/10 difficulty, and the XboxAchievements roadmap agrees on the difficulty while estimating roughly 8 hours to 1,000G if you optimise. Nothing is gated behind difficulty, so both sources recommend the easiest setting.
Platinum roadmap at a glance
Step one is a full clear on any difficulty: finish the story while collecting all ten radios, all thirteen Emergency Relief Crates and their Activator Pens, the weapons and as much Dream Essence as you can find. Step two is the Ex Oblivione New Game Plus run, where you pick up the eight new Codex documents. Step three is finishing the Talent tree, which needs more Dream Essence than two runs provide.
| Target | Requirement | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| All trophies but two | One full playthrough | Everything except the two gold trophies |
| From Oblivion | 8 Ex Oblivione documents | New Game Plus only, in a single run |
| What Dreams Are Made Of | Every Talent, about 60 Dream Essence | Needs two full runs plus a partial third |
| 4 shop Talents | 800 Eldritch Points | Bought from Eldritch Rewards in the Extras menu |
Safe codes and puzzle solutions you will need
The trophy-linked safes and locks are the ones to write down before you start. The Apartment 5 safe uses 1908, the Devil's Reef Hotel safe uses 2137, the hospital storage room lock uses 1308, and the church watergate lever uses 1672. The church obelisk puzzle is symbol-based and runs Snake, X, Arrowhead and U from top to bottom.

The remaining investigation answers are the hospital brains console at 13, 05, 36, the Fish Market wooden lock at 1, 4, 9, 16 and the Ezekiel locker at Lighthouse, Rope, Starfish, Octopus. Each one is worth a 40-point investigation trophy, and each is easier with the answer in hand.
- Apartment 5 wall safe: 1908.
- Devil's Reef Hotel safe: 2137.
- Hospital storage room lock: 1308.
- Church watergate lever: 1672.
How long it takes and what to do first
Start by playing normally and sweeping each area before you leave it, because nothing carries over to the next run and a missed radio means collecting the whole set again. Buy the four Extras Talents as soon as you have 800 Eldritch Points, then use the New Game Plus run to grab the eight Ex Oblivione documents and a second batch of Dream Essence.
The final Talent purchases are the last thing you will do, and they unlock the all-trophies award. The trophy guide lists the full 23-trophy set, and the walkthrough gives the chapter order so you know when each safe becomes reachable.
FAQ
1.How long does the platinum take?
100% Guides estimates about 20 hours to platinum at a difficulty of 3/10, with 2 or more playthroughs needed. The XboxAchievements roadmap estimates about 8 hours to 1,000G on the same 3/10 rating.
2.Which safe codes matter for trophies?
Four safes and locks are attached to trophies: 1908 for the Apartment 5 safe, 2137 for the hotel safe in Room 301, 1308 for the hospital storage room and the church obelisk puzzle for The Other Gods.
3.How much Dream Essence do you need?
About 60 in total to learn every Talent, but only about 25 spawn per playthrough. That gap is why the platinum needs two full runs plus a partial third run to finish the Talent tree.
4.What carries into New Game Plus?
Only Talent points carry over. Collectibles, weapons and keys do not, so the radios, crates and Dream Essence must all be gathered again, and the eight Ex Oblivione documents only exist in this mode.
5.Do you need to buy anything from the Extras shop?
Yes, four Talents are sold in the Eldritch Rewards section of the Extras menu for a combined 800 Eldritch Points. A normal playthrough earns more than that, so the only rule is not to spend the points on anything else.
