The Sinking City 2 ships with 23 achievements worth 1,000 points, and the completion is built around one normal run plus one Ex Oblivione New Game Plus run. Difficulty does not gate any of them, so you can play on the easiest setting with the invulnerability options on and still collect everything. The two sources disagree on missability, so this page reports both.
Roadmap at a glance
XboxAchievements rates the list 3/10, puts the time to 1,000G at about 8 hours, and states there are no missable achievements, no glitched achievements and no difficulty requirements. 100% Guides rates it 3/10 as well but estimates 20 hours to platinum and flags 16 missable trophies, because it treats everything that is not story-related as missable if you leave an area too early.
Both agree on the shape of the job: clear the story while grabbing every Emergency Relief Crate, every Mushroom Jack radio and the evidence needed for Dream Essence, then run New Game Plus for the Ex Oblivione set. If you only want the fast version, follow the 8-hour roadmap; if you want the safe version, treat every non-story trophy as missable and clear each area fully.
The eight side investigations and their safe codes
Eight trophies come from optional investigations, and each one is anchored to a puzzle or a safe code. The table below collects them with the answer each guide publishes.
| Trophy | Investigation | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| The Inheritance | Apartment 5 wall safe | 1908 |
| The Other Gods | Church mystery and obelisk | Snake, X, Arrowhead, U |
| The Red Press | Cursed press in the Printing House | Top right corner, middle, middle right, bottom left corner |
| The Siren's Call | Devil's Reef Hotel safe | 2137 |
| The Whisperers | Hospital brains machine | 13, 05, 36 |
| The Vault | Hospital locked storage | 1308 |
| The Drowned | Fish Market locker | Lighthouse, Rope, Starfish, Octopus |
| The Damned | Fish Market wooden lock | 1, 4, 9, 16 |
Each investigation is worth 40 points, and the guides note that the surrounding evidence is optional, so you can open the safe with the code alone and still unlock the trophy. The two symbol locks are the exception: the obelisk needs the Star key and the Trident first, and the Fish Market locker needs the bolt cutters from the weighing station.

Collectibles, radios and crates
Two collectible trophies are counters rather than one-offs. Mycophile wants all ten Mushroom Jack radios listened to in a single playthrough, and Behind Every Crate Man wants all thirteen Emergency Relief Crates unlocked, which means also finding the E.R.C. Activator Pens that open them.
- Mushroom Jack radios: 10, spread from the Annex to the Subterranean City portal room.
- Emergency Relief Crates: 13, with the hospital and the fish market holding the largest clusters.
- Ex Oblivione writings: 8, New Game Plus only, required for From Oblivion.
- Dream Essence: about 25 per run, spent on Talents.
The radio and crate lists overlap with the story route almost everywhere, so the practical approach is to sweep each area before you move on. Nothing carries over between runs, so a missed radio has to be re-collected from scratch.
Talents, Dream Essence and the Extras shop
What Dreams Are Made Of asks for every Talent in the game, which is the trophy that decides your total time. 100% Guides explains the maths: learning all Talents needs about 60 Dream Essence, but only about 25 spawn per playthrough, so you will collect the full set twice and then partially play a third run.
Four of the Talents are bought from the Eldritch Rewards section of the Extras menu for a combined 800 Eldritch Points. Eldritch Points come from Eldritch Challenges, and a full playthrough earns far more than 800, so the advice is simply to avoid spending them on anything else until those four Talents are bought. The platinum guide breaks the same steps down for the PlayStation list.

New Game Plus, Ex Oblivione and the platinum
Finishing the story unlocks Ex Oblivione, the New Game Plus mode. Only Talent points carry over, so every collectible must be gathered again, including the eight new Codex pages that only exist in this mode. The XboxAchievements roadmap also suggests buying the machine gun with infinite ammo from the Eldritch Rewards tab before starting the second run, which turns the replay into a fast sweep.
The platinum itself is For Her on PlayStation and the equivalent all-achievements unlock elsewhere, and it pops after the final Talent is purchased. For the story context behind the New Game Plus documents, see the endings page, and for the route order use the walkthrough.
FAQ
1.How many trophies does The Sinking City 2 have?
There are 23 achievements worth 1,000 points, all offline, according to the XboxAchievements roadmap. Steam lists the same total of 23 achievements on the store page.
2.How hard is the platinum?
Both 100% Guides and XboxAchievements rate it 3/10. 100% Guides estimates about 20 hours to platinum, while the XboxAchievements roadmap estimates about 8 hours to 1,000G.
3.How many playthroughs do you need?
At least two. The eight Ex Oblivione writings only appear in the New Game Plus mode, and unlocking every Talent needs roughly 60 Dream Essence when only about 25 spawn per run.
4.Which trophies are tied to safe codes?
Four: The Inheritance uses the 1908 apartment safe, The Siren's Call uses the 2137 hotel safe, The Vault uses the 1308 hospital storage lock, and The Other Gods uses the church obelisk and watergate puzzle.
5.What are the hardest trophies?
What Dreams Are Made Of is the long pole, because it needs every Talent and roughly 60 Dream Essence across multiple runs. From Oblivion needs all eight Ex Oblivione documents in one New Game Plus run.
6.Do difficulty settings affect trophies?
No. The XboxAchievements roadmap states that difficulty does not affect achievements, and it recommends the easiest setting for both runs, including the invulnerability options.
