A Seafarer: The Ship Sim walkthrough is less about a fixed level order than about the shape of the campaign: a tutorial that introduces two factions, a story campaign you can replay, and eight extra missions that arrived with the full release. This page lays out that order, lists the missions, and explains how to fast travel when a long transit stops being interesting.
How the Career and Campaign Fit Together
The career starts as an aspiring captain and grows through missions, reputation and fleet progression, while the story thread follows Teddy, an experienced captain with a troubled past, through a mystery the official site frames around guilt, trust and redemption. In practice the campaign missions are interleaved with ordinary contract work rather than being a separate mode you select from the menu.
Two modes are offered. Story mode carries the narrative across several factions, while Quickplay drops you straight into seafaring action. At full release, all campaign missions plus three special missions became replayable in Quickplay once completed in single-player.
The Opening: Tutorial, Crescent Port Logistics and Tide Patrol
The Gaming Nexus preview describes the tutorial as letting you try out ships and missions for Crescent Port Logistics, which operates traditional cargo lines, and Tide Patrol, which handles maritime policing. Its first concrete job was pushing a large freighter into dock with a tugboat, and the preview notes that the game makes you move around the vessel and interact with doors, electronics and objects rather than driving through a simplified control strip.
For a visual reference of the whole run, the ChapterCheats entry embeds a full-game walkthrough video hosted on YouTube by the channel DualShot66, although that video predates the full release and therefore shows an Early Access build.

Missions Added at Full Release
| Mission | Type | Where it is available |
|---|---|---|
| Flying Dutchman | Main | Crescentport, at the highest harbour reputation |
| A Light on the Horizon | Main | Stettach |
| Forbidden Freight | Main | Stettach, at the highest harbour reputation |
| Eddy's Delivery Service | Main | Mettington, Crescentport, Stettach and Drachdelen |
| Seal Appeal | Side | Discovered while travelling the open sea |
| Discord | Side | Discovered while travelling the open sea |
| A Sound Anomaly | Side | Discovered while travelling the open sea |
| Secrets of the Deep | Side | Discovered while travelling the open sea |
The full release notes are explicit that not every new assignment starts at a harbour, so the four side missions are meant to be stumbled into while sailing rather than picked from a job board.
How to Fast Travel Between Jobs
- Fast travel is unlocked from Level 1 after the full release rebalance, so you do not have to grind a career before using it.
- Trigger it from the harbour Fast Travel buttons that the Patch 1.0.1 public beta added.
- Alternatively open the Job Menu and use the Travel To entry to move to a mission or destination.
- It will not work while you are inside a harbour area, because the 1.0.1 notes disabled it there.
- Treat it carefully in co-op: the 1.0.1 known-issues list says using Travel To in multiplayer can crash clients, more often over longer distances.
Some Steam reviewers dislike that fast travel exists at all, arguing that skipping the voyage undercuts a sim about shipping. The counter-argument in the same threads is that ships travel far slower than aircraft, and a long transit at realistic speed is dead time for many players. Either way, the feature is optional.
After the Campaign: Quickplay and Free Play
Once a campaign mission has been completed in single-player, Quickplay makes it available again, so you can revisit a favourite assignment without restarting a career. There is no documented custom-voyage editor, and a Steam review from November 2025 complained specifically that there were no options to make your own voyages — treat free-form sandboxing as something the game does not currently advertise.

If the story missions run dry, the harbour reputation track and the daily challenge and dynamic event systems are the intended sources of further work, and the full release also increased rewards for special and campaign missions so that continuing to play them stays worthwhile.
FAQ
1.How many missions were added at Seafarer's full release?
Eight. The full release announcement lists four new main missions available in harbours, including Flying Dutchman, A Light on the Horizon, Forbidden Freight and Eddy's Delivery Service, plus four side missions found on the open sea: Seal Appeal, Discord, A Sound Anomaly and Secrets of the Deep.
2.Can you replay campaign missions?
Yes, through Quickplay. The full release notes say all campaign missions and three special missions can be replayed once you have completed an eligible mission in single-player.
3.Do you need to finish the tutorial before multiplayer?
The walkthrough cannot promise a hard gate, because neither the patch notes nor the official FAQ state one. What is documented is that the multiplayer crew option supports up to four players and that mission rewards are currently not delivered to multiplayer clients in the 1.0.1 beta.
4.What is the fastest way to move between mission areas?
Fast travel unlocks at Level 1 and can be triggered from harbour Fast Travel buttons or the Travel To entry in the Job Menu, but it is disabled while you are inside a harbour area and is known to cause client crashes in multiplayer.
